POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

DESCRIPTION: Wildlife Biologist Assistant (1)to assist graduate research assistant on the effect of restoration of Carolina Bay wetlands on amphibian populations from 4 January through 31 July 2002. Pay is $6.75/hour for 40 hour work week. Housing and field vehicle will be provided. The study site is located on the Savannah River Site near Aiken, South Carolina. Techician duties will be to assist graduate student in trapping, marking, and identifying amphibian species on a daily basis in various weather conditions, as well as drift fence maintenance, computer data entry, and vegetation data collection. Applicant must possess a high school diploma and experience in agricultural research or animal care that is directly related to the area of employment. Employee must be able to navigate over rough terrain, and walk at least four miles a day carrying equipment in all weather conditions. A valid drivers license is required. Preferred qualifications include a BS degree in biology, wildlife, or related field, and field experience indentifying southeastern amphibians.
