POSITION VACANCY - CONTRACT AMPHIBIAN BIOLOGIST
(Biologist 1, AWEC Level 17)
Ten-month contract position, starting February 25, 2002
Hourly Rate: $10.98/hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES: One 10 month At-Will Contract Position opening for an
individual to supervise an amphibian monitoring project in the Wyoming and
Wind River mountain ranges of western Wyoming. The goal of the project is
to determine the distribution of the boreal toad and other amphibians in
the upper Green River drainage. Much of the survey work will be on the
Bridger-Teton National Forest and will require extended stays in a camper
from May through September. This position will most likely be based out
of Green River, Wyoming and will plan the fieldwork and supervise 3
technicians while participating in survey efforts. Data analyzes and
report preparation will be conducted following the field season. The
position will run from February 25, 2002 through December 13, 2002.
QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of college coursework at the baccalaureate
level in herpetology, fishery management, zoology, biology, ichthyology,
wildlife management or other closely related field. Experience with
backcountry travel and orienteering would be beneficial. Other related
training and experience will be evaluated for placement in this position.
Preference will be given to individuals seeking a career in aquatic
wildlife management and to applicants who submit complete and legible
